Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

Just renewed today! My $32.00 six month "trial" ends tomorrow.

Called (866) 635-2349 to cancel before they renewed my subscription at whatever the going rate is at the moment!

Probably should have went with another six months @ $32.00 but went with $85.00 for a year With a ~ $10.00 music royalty fee (Something new this year?)

Told them to send me a bill, didn't want them to have a cc on file to bill me at the full rate when the year is up!...... Came to a grand total of $96.59 with the $2.00 invoice fee waived.

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

I've been getting the same "$24.99 for 5 months" deal for a while.

Last time I called a week before it was about to expire and was given this after rejecting all other offers:

Sirius Select 5 month $24.99
US Music Rolyalty fee $3.12
Credit for one week -$1.28

for a total of $26.83

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

Just renewed mine today (5 months for $25)... They were asking 107.35 for a 6-mo subscription. I said, no way, not when people are paying $30 for 6mo. They continued to blah blah that the offer is no longer available blah blah. I said that im going to cancel and they checked one more time. She came back with 50% off a 6-mo and I said no. Came back again and gave me the 5-mo for $25.... These people are stupid, just play the game. Don't waste your money paying too much for satellite radio.

This is what I've done for years on my other vehicles - never give them a credit card number; make them send a paper invoice. Plus, I read some other good advice to always pay the paper invoice with a money order or cashier's check so they never get your bank account info. I've never had issues with this in the past when I paid the invoices with a personal check, but sounds like great advice to me.

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

I got $86 for a one year subscription. Don't want to deal with them ever 5 or 6 months. Even if they don't have your card they will still bill you. Set a reminder on your phone or computer to call and cancel before the subscription expires. Other wise you may still end up with a $15 invoice. They're sneaky.

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

i cant get myself to do it... i just dont see the value in it when you can just stream pandora or other services for.. basically free (depending on your plan)

also the sound quality on the 8.4an is...terrible for sxm.

Yes I should have mentioned that...... I always ask for a paper invoice to be sent and always pay with a USPS money order! You do not want these people to have bank account and routing #'s from your banking institution.

If you read the customer agreement they do have the right to renew your plan at the current rate if you do not call and cancel before the subscription expires!

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

When I called to switch it over from dealership to private, as well as cancel the last vehicle I discovered that SiriusXM had *finally* merged their accounting departments so I could combine my XM radios (two of them) with my Sirius in the Jeep. I went ahead and had them put me in for auto renew after my 1-year free trial. I may add the Miata back to the account since I get the multiple radio discount. The reason the Miata isn't on it is because, since the merger of Sirius and XM, they refused to give me a multiple radio discount on Sirius. We have had two XM radios for years, and the van we traded for the Jeep had an XM radio. The Miata's free trial lasted 16 months instead of 4 months (it should have ended in August 2012, but it kept on until August, 2013), so I hadn't checked to see if they had combined the two departments since my last Miata's trial expired (this is my fourth one) and I had issued an edict to Sirius to quit calling me.

I much prefer satellite radio over CDs, iPod, over-the-air radio, etc.

So to answer the OP, yes. I have renewed/will renew.

Yes, I have, and it does work, at least with my iPhone 4S. My phone has unlimited data and is the primary phone on Bluetooth, so I'll use it on occasion.

Yeah mine also and i have the 4S so do you think that would be a viable alternative to paying for satellite again also given the fact that the sound from your phone to the radio using the 2.5 cord is probably dynamically better then the compressed satellite signal?
