Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

the 911/assist buttons are on the mirror and part of the uconnect system. (i think). I dont think she will use or need mobile hotspot. I find that using svoice on my cell far better than yelp. If i push the uconnect apps button and then ant app like pandora, it takes me to the store where the store says Iam in trial period. I want her to have the 91and assist but she doesn't need traffic or weather.

If I am correct, updates for the system come from 3 sources (uconnect, Navtech, and Sirrus

All the functions are pretty well explained in the Uconnect manual:

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

i would never continue SXM with this system.. the sound quality is still absolute junk. It might as well be a cassette tape. Its dull and not loud... even my wife was like "whats wrong with this thing? Great.. something else is broken?"

The Sirius XM select package will give you all of the stations mentioned. The current
promotion is $30 for 6 months. It's probably the same that others have mentioned and will likely be available in August. The hardest part is getting to someone that will actually allow you to purchase it. At least that was my experience.

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

I just called them today and they tried to get me on the $189 for the full year. When I said No, they tried to get me for $18 a month instead. When I told them I know there are specials, they asked what one I was talking about. 6 months for $25, he looked it up quick and said that that one was currently active. With tax it is costing me $29. Just have to cancel or renew before that end of October.

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

Greetings,

For those you have the 2011-2013 GC that went with an aftermarket headunit and the SiriusXm SV200 series receiver will give you a significant improvement in sound quality. Sad to say at this junction those with the 2014+ can not go the aftermarket route yet.

IMO, the SiriusXm online happens to have the best quality sound over the satellite service. If you want to keep it, look into the online and use the bluetooth connection on your smartphone. They might have some deal also.

Since the beginning of the year, I have not renew Sirius and opted for the other music apps such as Pandora, Aupeo and Spotify all using their premium audio service. Between them, it is far cheaper than SiriusXM. Even more important to me with the music apps, the program material is far better than offered by Sirius. Plus the fact I can tailor the selections. I understand that Beats Music App right now has the best sound quality available that is right at CD level.

I had Sirius for about 9 yrs and I thought I would miss it. I guess not.

Best for now.

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

I currently have Sirius with the traffic package (I have the RHR radio) Does anyone know if the navigation will still update your route due to traffic conditions without the traffic plan or even without a Sirius subscription at all?

Thanks

Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

I'm not sure how it would know about road conditions otherwise.

FWIW, I found that while you cannot select a traffic only subscription via the web site, you can actually purchase one. I did the "chat with a rep" thing and they were able to set me up with only what I wanted.

(I have the RA4N, but I don't see why it would be different in these respects)
