Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

Here is what I have run into while dealing with Sirius. I have a lifetime from a vehicle that was totaled. It has been in my file since 2010. When my jeep's free one year expired I called to apply the lifetime. No one knew how to do it. Finally after a few weeks of back and forth they said that I could apply it to just the radio but not the travel link. The radio and travel link share one ID number in the base unit. So radio forever and travel link never again and I mean never again because of the one ID number. Could not even pay for travel link seperate.

I buy my wife a new vehicle which has XM radio. After her three months free subscription runs out I call to have the lifetime added to her radio. I was told that I bought my lifetime with Sirius, even though XM and Sirius are merged they would not apply it to an XM radio.

So to say I am disappointed with Sirius/XM is an understatement. Customer service is terrible. I had one rep. say they were going to call me back. Never heard from them. I learned to get direct phone numbers to the english speaking people so I could bypass India from the start of my hour long phone calls trying to get questions answered. Do I still have Sirius radio? Yes I do. Am I happy? No, I am not.....

Do you mind sharing the phone numbers for the English speaking customer service? I am trying to link multiple accounts, but after three attempts stopped because the Indian speaking reps were not helpful due to the language barrier.

Will enjoy it while it is free, but I stream Pandora and Iheart over bluetooth. Generally no longer have a need for sat radio.

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

Has anyone recently been able to get a reasonable deal on the SAT radio? 4 attempts have yielded nothing better than about $120 a year for the "mostly music package". I'd hate to give up Outlaw Country , even though Mojo Nixon wears pretty damn thin, but for the 5 or 6 music stations I listen to, I'd like to get a better deal.

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

Enjoy whatever deal you get now. Next year Sirius basic ("Select") goes from $12.95/month to $14.50.

Dumb move. Their growth rate has slowed even as their costs have gone down. So instead of accepting a good thing, they've gotten greedy and are raising rates to try to maintain their former profit growth rate. More likely is that they will drive even more people away and start a downward spiral.

^^ that's good to know. At $100 per year, it may be worth it. But not much more...

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

I let it expire on my Buick, Ford and will on my GC. I stream Pandora and or iHeart over BT.
No longer do I need to pay for sat music. I've been done with those clowns for a year now. Have not missed them.

Only reason why I have Siruis is for their comedy stations.

I just recently renewed two radios in October, called and said I was going to cancel both, they offered me $85 a year for each radio to stay, that's $170, the original bill to renew both was over $300 . I have done this for the past 5 years and it has worked every time.
