Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

You can prevent auto renewal, but you need to know the date your subscription expires. Call them a few days before and set up your renewal terms, or you can threaten to cancel if you are not happy with their offer. The operator will then transfer you to their customer retention call center where you may be able to negotiate a better deal.

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

I'd never pay a dime for such poor sound quality. I do pay for TrafficLink (only) on my Lincoln. It's $40-something/year. I may cancel it as well -- as it's never really in real time. Once a traffic incident occurs, it's often too late by the time it's reported.

If you still aren't sure, and you have some type of a smartphone. Try slacker radio, it's a free app and works great. (iPhone/blackberry)

I guess thanks to Jeep paying for year better than any other cars I own. What about you? iPod solution works, what else?
Exactly. I do have about a 45 minute commute to and from work daily but it is so hard to justify the extra money for that short of a time period. Plus, I'm an XM guy (I know they are the same company but they offer different programs). If I want the XM programs like Opie and Anthony, I have to pay extra. And, if you want online streaming, that is extra too. Its just getting harder and harder to justify the cost of it.

I never give them my cc either. I call and try to negotiate yearly. In fact, I have a ical reminder for it. If I get the deal I want, I tell them to bill me. They only get a check from me so they cannot auto-renew.

I didn't know I can pay with a check. This makes it safer in a way that they really cannot auto-renew.

Exactly. They don't tell you that. And if they tell you you can't they are lying. I get a statement so I'm in control.

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

I originally was not planning on renewing, but as I got closer to the renewal, I realized how much I really do listen to it. The reception in were I live with the trees can be a challenge, but local radio is soooo terrible, what choice to you really have.

Not much of a Howard listener, but PJ Radio is great. I renewed online, prepaid for the year, super easier and I didn't have to talk to customer service.
