I am fairly sure that Harmon did not get involved in anything but the Summit. Now the part I am not sure about is a believe that is a Pioneer system in everything else but I can ask.

Harmon Group are the same people that make JBL Vertec which is one of the most popular Live Touring rigs in America. I also know that Harmon Group's Automotive division is massive. You can get a $70,000 Mercedes but after all the upgrades you still need to spend another $810.00 to upgrade to Harmon.

It is truely an amazing system and a pathetically sad as this may sound, It was the biggest reason I needed to go Summit (god forbid the thing actually Build!!).

Hopefully some Summit Drivers will chime in here?
I've listened to the Harmon, yeah its a nice system but you're comparing two completely different systems and $10,000 price difference price difference between the limited and the summit. I wasn't even referring to the Harmon, I was referring to the system found in all the other trim levels. If you are only upgrading to the Summit just for the stereo system, I find that absurd. An aftermarket system could be put in for a lot less and sound a lot better. Just my opinion.

"One of the biggest" reasons to upgrade to the summit..... certainly it wasn't the only. There are lots of times I spend many hours in my car in one go.

Harmon does not make a 10 speaker system for the Jeep. It's either the Alpine system or the 6 speaker stock system. The only sound system they make for the Jeeps is the 19 speaker system found in the Summit and the SRT8

Great, that was my understanding, that they are COMPLETELY different audio systems, just with the same user interface.

thx.

Re: From the horses mouth on the Harman Kardon System

My limited S has the Harmon 19 speaker system and it pretty good, I think it could do with more bass but that's just me, but overall it's a good system.

Re: From the horses mouth on the Harman Kardon System

I have a 2014 GC Summit. The sound from the HK system is badly muffled, the door speakers buzz and Sirius is distorted. What a disappoint coming from a 2011 GC Summit that had a very good sound system.

Anyone buying a 2014 Summit should think twice if they enjoy listening to radio in their car.

Before trading it, I will probably try changing the speakers, but I doubt that will fix the Sirius reception problem.

Chrysler should fire whoever signed off on this audio system.

You might want to have it looked at... I have seen a few examples of people talking about their summit's sound system, and it sounds like they are describing two different sound systems. I have a feeling that a few of them out there not working as intended.

Re: From the horses mouth on the Harman Kardon System

Thank you for the suggestion. I will, but the typical dealer response is "no problem found; operating as designed". Also, there are multiple posts in other forums about the poor sound quality.

Re: From the horses mouth on the Harman Kardon System

Fixed. Apparently the volume knob contacts had something on them that distorted the signal. Rotating back and forth cleared the audio.

Cool glad to hear that too. The Sirus radio is badly compressed but sounds better in the GC than other stuff. I was going to say though I was in a Summit at one dealer which didn't sound fantastic but I was in one yesterday that was pretty amazing.

If that distortion comes back I would certainly get it looked at it. The Harmon rocks IMHO.
