Front Speaker issue?

Hey Guys,

I have a 2011 wk2 with the alpine system and it seems that my passenger side door speaker has a pretty good rattle when a song with decent bass comes on. I cannot tell if this is possibly a bad speaker or something loose. Now I know factory is never perfect audio but all the other speakers sound good to me and I'm not looking to "upgrade" per say.

My question is obviously, how can i fix it? Do you think this is a speaker issue that a warranty would fix? or possibly new 6x9's in the front? or do you think maybe I need to speak to an installer about sound mat or insulation? Thank you.

Re: Front Speaker issue?

Sounds like a blown speaker to me just take it in and have them replace it under warranty for you.

Re: Front Speaker issue?

I had a nasty (audio induced) rattle on my passenger side door panel as well. Removed door panel and tightened all of the trim retaining screws which are accessible ONLY from the back side of the panel. There was about 10 of them. Reinstalled door panel and all is well.

Before you go through panel removal, see if the rattle fades when applying pressure on various areas of the panel. If it does NOT improve, it is possible you have a speaker that has grenaded.
