I tried searching in a PDF version of the manual and couldn't find any reference to this. Could you provide a page #?

Thanks

From the manual:

FUEL SAVER TECHNOLOGY 5.7L ENGINE ONLY – IF EQUIPPED This feature offers improved fuel economy by shutting off four of the engine’s eight cylinders during light load and cruise conditions. The system is automatic with no driver inputs or additional driving skills required.

This is all I could find. I thought I remember reading something about a light in the cluster, maybe not.

I have tried doing it with the engine on to account for the on/off option discrepancy, but it doesn't keep. I am still running the xxxx.10.0 software build. I read somewhere months ago that said it turned on an indicator to show when the engine was running in 4cyl mode, but I don't recall where....

Re: Fuel Saver Display In Cluster

I also have a 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit with a V8. I cannot get my "display fuel saver in cluster" to stay checked. Every time I exit out of the settings it goes back to being unchecked. Has anyone discovered what this is about? Does the Summit shut down cylinders on the highway? It bothers me that I just bought this and even the dealership is confused.

I would assume this is similar to the constant raising indicator for QL in the display, where the system seems to be working normally but the display doesn't display the correct state. I would love to see 4cyl vs 8cyl status as a curiosity.

I have the latest UConnect update. Same problem, can't get the box to stay checked.

Re: Fuel Saver Display In Cluster

'14 Overland with the latest software and mine will not stay checked either. The dealer advised today when I had it in to be checked, that the issue been "escalated to an engineer". But so far no ETA on a fix.

Yes on the cylinder deactivation.

Re: Fuel Saver Display In Cluster

I have the '14, v8 and have this same problem. I brought it into the dealership the other day along with some other issues. The tech told me that the problems stem from a broken module that they need to replace. Along with the box being unable to remain "checked", I was having problems with my navigation detecting when it was night time so the displayed map and backlight were always bright rather than dimmed.

He says the module was for the light detection but he said it could also affect the fuel cluster thing. But when I do check the box I'm also not getting what I should in my instrument display cluster.

Re: Fuel Saver Display In Cluster

Mine is working. It was already checked when I got the Jeep in March, I never touched it.

But the 'next turn in cluster' has to be rechecked every few days.

Windows 95 Beta was more stable than uConnect.
