As mentioned, it appears to be an Apple issue. Recent engineering tests at Chrysler list the 430N as compatible for UConnect but not Bluetooth.

Re: Future RER Updates

I just got off the phone with Chrysler, they were no help. Now, I have no confidence that there will be a software fix. In fact, this completely destroys my ownership experience. The key thing that I really need to work and work at a high level is bluetooth (but I want the Nav and Voice Command to work too). This sucks.

Re: Future RER Updates

Apple is notorious for screwing up things that worked previously. Ever wonder why every time a new iPod or iPhone revision comes out there's questions like "will this work with X?" It isn't the fault of X, it's the fault of Apple being unable to play nice with others.

As for updates to the RER, I would suspect there may be some kind of updates... in the engineer's chat they said that "both units (meaning both the RHB and RER) are capable of being upgraded." No word if that's just map or OS changes. but we'll find out the hard way.

Re: Future RER Updates

Wait for iOS 4.2 to drop tomorrow (Tuesday). Maybe Apple fixed their defective product.

Re: Future RER Updates

I have the Droid Incredible, and I have no issues whatsoever... Hmmm...

Oh, and I purchased a separate iPod to connect for music.

Both work like a dream!

Doesn’t seem like there is a problem with the RER here!

Sorry, I like Apple products, but they do like to make things difficult!

Of course not. A lot of Apple fans worship the company, and therefore it can't possibly be at fault.

Like the OP said, his ownership experience is ruined. I suggest he trade it in.

The only problem is he's likely to have the same problem with Ford, Nissan, Infiniti, Jaguar, and Volvo as they are all as "defective" as the Jeep is in regards to the Iphone 4

PS: Dude, buy a new phone.
