Re: GPS programming while driving?

Just finished a 7,200 mile trip. Overall, we are extremely happy with our Overland. The looks, ride, handling, and features are excellent.

However, the two most frustrating problems I had were (1) the Nav System / POI screen locking up and (2) the inability to find a destination while moving.

While I was a passenger, I wanted to find a hotel 100 miles ahead. I couldn't figure out how to do it. I had to wait until we stopped or I used my Smartphone or my portable Garmin.

While traveling, I started using my laptop at night to figure out about where we would be the next night. Then, in the morning, I added Favorites for that town and towns closer and further away. While driving, I would Nav to one of these Fav and can ask for a POI - Motel - Near Destination. A lot of work for a passenger who can safely use a keyboard and cannot reach the Voice Command key on the steering wheel.

If anyone can tell me how to use voice command to find a motel in a distant town, please let me know.

Tom

Previous nav units ive used have a vehicle speed sensor wire that if grounded would allow you to use the nav while moving. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the MY14.?
