Ground location for aftermarket amp

This is my first post here. I've been trolling for some time and have found a ton of useful information here so I figured I'd do my part.
I installed an aftermarket amp/sub/headunit this weekend and found a great ground location if you are mounting the amp under the driver seat.

This may be known but...if you remove the piece of plastic between the driver side door and the e-brake pedal, there are 2 bolts that appear to attach the dash to the frame. The metal is bare and doesn't need filed or grinded down. It's as simple as removing the bolt, throwing a ring tongue and washer underneath and replacing the bolt.

I've installed many systems and this is the most convenient ground that i've found. The amp has been running strong with no noise issues or cut-offs.

Thanks for the info! Picture of this bolt?

How do you route the positive cable to the battery?

How long is your ground wire?

I will try to post some pictures of the location.

The ground wire I used was just over 3ft. Maybe like 3.5 The amp is mounted under the drivers seat. I ran the wire under the carpet

Re: Ground location for aftermarket amp

I snapped a few quick pictures to try to illustrate the ground location and power wire routing. To route the power wire, I popped off the rear piece of the center console. This gave me easy access to rout the wire from the battery under the passenger seat over to the amp under my driver seat. The wire is completely hidden under carpet. I also attached a picture of the Pioneer AVH-x3500 that I installed.

I ran my power wire under the carpet from the battery to my amp and ground my amp to the bolt under the b pillar cover that holds in the seat belt.

Re: Ground location for aftermarket amp

So there's actually room under the center console to route the power wire huh? Interesting!

Yes. Take the seats out and the panels off the center consuls and peel the carpet back at the seam and there tons of room

FYI for my setup I did not have to remove the seats. It probably would have made things a little easier but I was able to fish the wires everywhere I needed to without removing the seats.

Thanks for the info!

What size Torx do you need to remove the seatbelt from the seat? It looks pretty big.
