Hard Drive

I could not down load music from my iPod, iPhone to my hard drive so I called the dealer. They said it wasn't Chrysler but Apple! Apparently Apple does not allow their music to be down loaded on a hard drive other than Apple. Why not? Its not like I didn't pay for the music! Bummer!

Re: Hard Drive

I think you may try uploading using an USB.

You can't load the music directly from an iPod or iPhone...you need to use a portable flash drive or similar.

Re: Hard Drive

dealer is right - apple makes it very hard to pull music off of an ipod. Best to buy a $15 USB memory stick to ferry music from computer to car.

That's not quite it. In order to move music from an iPod to a hard disk, the hard disk must be connected to a computer running iTunes. There's no way, technically or legally, to get iTunes running on the 430N ... and even if you could, it needs updates so often that you'd be in a world of hurt.

On your computer, find the files with .mp3 or .m4a extensions. (.m4p won't work -- that's Apple's old protected music.) Copy them to a USB thumb drive. Insert the thumb drive into the 430N and tell it to upload the music.
