Hard Drive Failed?

so...i was plugging in a thumb drive to upload a song (literally ONE) song into my hard drive. after it prompted me that the file transfer was complete, i tried to play the song and it just froze. i turned the car on and off twice. and then tried to play music on my hd again. no joy. then i tried to delete all of the music, and then load a song from two different thumb drives. nothing. i don't know whats going on with the system and i think that its either a bad software glitch, or maybe a hard drive failure. at any rate, i dont know how to resolve the issue, and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

Re: Hard Drive Failed?

If it weren't under warranty I would disconnect the battery and let everything reset. But you should consider showing the dealer and getting documentation of the problem even if it's an easy fix.

Yeah, I'm thinking this is a "take it to the dealer" kind of thing. Probably infant mortality on the hard drive; sometimes the things just fail shortly after being put into service.

I have a home server that had a 2TB drive crap out a couple months after I unboxed it. Such things happen.
