Help with Nav Highway only

Just took a trip The Nav got me where I wanted to go but went through all these side roads ....is there a way to program it to stay only on major roads?????

Even better, it actually seems to work.
And in Colorado, it will even flag that the road may be missing a few bridges--or in some cases the entire road.

Took it a bit to catch up [and not a clue where the info comes from], but it is pathing me around the closures nicely.

The NAV integrates with sirius/XM NavTraffic.

Your route preference may have been set for shortest way, which can send you on some interesting detours to cut off a fraction of a mile. Usually the fastest route choice will keep you on the major roads.

Were there are accidents or traffic jams on the major road way? The navigation can be set as well to take you around those to save you time.
