Re: Hey Apple TV Guys!

Just get a 12v DC to 5V DC converter. The USB adapters you plug in to cigarette adapter does that but usually don't output enough current. Some do for fast charging. You may just have to make a custom cable.

Re: Hey Apple TV Guys!

I had a play with my setup today. I put a ground loop isolator on the audio lines which fixed the difference in the volume but not the hum.

The inverter is pure SW and I don't remember it being cheap but it defiantly wasn't the most expensive. It's 300w continuous power and 600w surge - it is possible this is too much?

Would converting the Apple TV2 to be powered off a usb connection work? It's quite a hassle to do I believe and would prevent me using it on mains power iif I needed/wanted too.

Most USB power is pretty low wattage. But they do make higher wattage ones for fast charging. Check what the AC adapter puts out for the Apple TV (can't be too much) and find a USB converter that exceeds it. I don't know what the built in one will output.
