Well it's for the passenger mainly but I'd be lying if I said I won't be glancing at it as well. But yes it works while driving.

Have u tried that or are you just saying that? Because the phone is a not on the same network as the device connected to it's hotspot...

Here is a video of my Apple TV working while driving. My wife filled while I drove. Just picked a random Netflix movie.

AppleTV in 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee - YouTube

Here is a crappy pic of the Apple TV awkwardly fitting in the cubby. Everything is behind the climate controls/under the nav.

Nice work, I wonder if an Android phone would provide and be on the same network as a chromecast similar to you Apple TV and hotspot.

I don't see why not. Chrome cast is fairly cheap right? Worth a shot. Also, you don't need an iphone to use the AppleTV. Simply just needs an internet connection. However if you wanted to mirror your phone you wouldn't be able to do that.

Yeah I have two chromecast in the house right now, will test. $35 is a win.

I need to play around with the settings because the picture is stretched. Basically people look skinnier or a basketball is more oval shaped. Hopefully I can find a setting to fix this. Basically I need to make the video letter box and it would be perfect.

Well, unfortunately none of the resolutions seem to make a difference for me. I watched a video of a guy with a Jeep that has the AppleTV and he has a black bar at the bottom. I think I heard Magnus talk about that bar how it was suppose to be where the stock entertainment system controls were. Anyway, his seems to look normal since that bar is there and the video is not stretched. While that single black bar looks tacky, it seems like it makes the aspect ratio normal. I have sent him a message and hope he replies. I have also sent a PM to Magnus as I believe he has an AppleTV setup as well.

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right spot but I will give it a shot here. I have the RAX Jailbreak and installed the harness today to add Apple TV to the "cargo cam" input. I am using an HDMI to composite video converter. The video plays with no issues but there is no sound playing throughout the car. Am I missing something? Is there a setting I have to change? This is my first post so I'm not sure how to upload a photo to show the setup....

Hit media then select aux then go back to cargo cam. The aux audio input is used for audio for the rax jailbreak.

So essentially you could be listening to the radio but viewing your video source if you wanted...

First Post...

I have a similar setup to you but do not have any sound. Did you have to change any of the settings on the appleTV to get any sound to come out?

I am thinking the issue may be the converter, as mine is slightly different than the one you have. Do you have the link to the exact one you purchased?

Thanks!
