Picked up an Apple TV for my Uconnect system. I know everything I need need and how to do it. Just wanting see how you guys set yours up. Like where you mounted everything etc.
I don't see why not. Chrome cast is fairly cheap right? Worth a shot. Also, you don't need an iphone to use the AppleTV. Simply just needs an internet connection. However if you wanted to mirror your phone you wouldn't be able to do that.
I need to play around with the settings because the picture is stretched. Basically people look skinnier or a basketball is more oval shaped. Hopefully I can find a setting to fix this. Basically I need to make the video letter box and it would be perfect.
Just change the resolution of the movies ? But I don't no the resolution of the Jeep screens ie 720 or 480 , 640 ? ... Also good effort at least your having a go mate ..
Hi, in the AppleTV settings menu, go to Audio & Video, then TV Resolution, and set it to 640x480, that's the native resolution for the Uconnect screen.
Well, unfortunately none of the resolutions seem to make a difference for me. I watched a video of a guy with a Jeep that has the AppleTV and he has a black bar at the bottom. I think I heard Magnus talk about that bar how it was suppose to be where the stock entertainment system controls were. Anyway, his seems to look normal since that bar is there and the video is not stretched. While that single black bar looks tacky, it seems like it makes the aspect ratio normal. I have sent him a message and hope he replies. I have also sent a PM to Magnus as I believe he has an AppleTV setup as well.
I found a workaround for removing that black bar but I think it DOES stretch the image a bit when removed. Using the back button cycle through all of the inputs until it spits you back out on the "controls screen" and then re-enter "cargo camera".
Not sure if I'm posting this in the right spot but I will give it a shot here. I have the RAX Jailbreak and installed the harness today to add Apple TV to the "cargo cam" input. I am using an HDMI to composite video converter. The video plays with no issues but there is no sound playing throughout the car. Am I missing something? Is there a setting I have to change? This is my first post so I'm not sure how to upload a photo to show the setup....
Thank you so much CLSTech! That was my problem! I've been scratching my head trying to figure out why there was no sound for the past 3 hours! I really appreciate you helping me out
Hey fellas, I installed the RAX silver in my JGC I also included the Apple TV with the composite converter and a power inverter. How do I access the Apple TV airplay? What buttons should I be pressing?
I have a similar setup to you but do not have any sound. Did you have to change any of the settings on the appleTV to get any sound to come out?
I am thinking the issue may be the converter, as mine is slightly different than the one you have. Do you have the link to the exact one you purchased?
Thanks!
