How do adjust this?...turn off that?...etc

I have a 2014 Overland. I can't find my manual. There are a few things that bug me and I wonder if there is a way to adjust/perform operations to correct that.

1) How do you turn off the music? Not, just mute it or select "media" and turn the media source off. Where is the off button for music (radio FM/ Sirius/flash/bluetooth/....all)?

2) I was hype about getting auto dimming mirrors after my Audi experience with them, but the Jeep dims them way too dark. All I can see is headlights. Is there a way to adjust the dim level?

3) I hate the interior lights coming on every time I get in and out of the Jeep. Is there a way to select for them to be off upon door opening without dimming the gauge display?

A tip I would like to to put in the suggestion box for Jeep: Put a button on the door to allow for tilting mirrors while backing up rather than having it as a setting to always tilt or never tilt.

There is no "OFF" button...it's a 3G radio. Turn the volume to "0" if you don't want to hear music.

Nope.
I believe (not sure) that turning the volume all the way down will also prevent you from hearing your paired phone ringing. Mute only kills the music volume.

Its crazy they this thing is so loaded with features but they forgot to leave in simple functionality.

Try downloading your owners manual. It will probably be more up to date than your printed version, and easier to search.

Jeep Owners | Download an Owners Manual 2004 - 2011 | Jeep

I never understood why Jeep never put a separate button to defeat the interior lights without dimming the dash. GM and Ford that I've owned had it.

When I start my car in the garage the lights come on, so the backup camera is dimmed. I could turn off the auto headlights, but why have them. I get the impression that the people at Jeep who develop the various options never speak to each other to see how everything can work the way people who drive Jeeps may want to use them.

And they need to stop hiring Amish who only drive horse drawn buggies.

From the trusty manual, page 26.

Quote:

The front courtesy overhead console and door courtesy
lights will turn on if the dimmer control is in the
“Dome ON” position (extreme top position).

The Illuminated Entry system will not operate if the
dimmer control is in the “Dome defeat” position

(extreme bottom position).

Re: How do adjust this?...turn off that?...etc

radio thing is stupid.
Audi had the same thing. in my brand new A6, putting the volume down is no sound from any source, and turning the system off, would never be remembered, so starting the car again would result in the radio being turned on again.
why delete a simple function like that. i don't want music all the time. don't decide that for me..

I agree 100%. Without it, it's a waste of a potentially great feature.

That, I do know, ....and it is not what I want. Defeating the dome lights also dims the gauges. I was hoping there was a separate adjustments.

If I get in my truck while its parked on a dark street or once I park on a dark street/parking lot, I don't want would-be no-gooders to see everything I'm doing once I enter the vehicle before I start it or once I open the door after I park.
