How do I add a sub and amp to 2014 jgc

Hi everyone. I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. How do I add my 2 12" Sony xplods and amp to this system. I have looked everywheres and have returned with no answers. It had the 8.4" infotainment system with the 9 amped speakers. I talked to a guy to installs audio and he said the only way to do it is to bypass the stock amp and basically lose 2 speakers. Anyone have a clue?

Greetings,

Check this link out:

Stealthbox Installation

Same principle and you do not have to loose 2 the speakers. You are just substituting the factory OEM sub with your setup. The link on how the fellow member did his system is correct. Follow their instructions you should not have a problem.

Hope this helps.

Best for now.

You don't have to lose anything. Buy a LC2i, and tap into your existing sub signal for input to the LC2i. That will provide RCAs for your aftermarket amp.

Re: How do I add a sub and amp to 2014 jgc

I can not for the life of me find the amp in this Cherokee (2014). It is not underneith the rear passenger seat. I found a something that looks extremely similar to an amp under the pass.seat and removed the wires....turns the music on and no change in music sound. So probably not the amp?

Anyone know?

Its a 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited

Found it.

Its located at the head unit now. Jeep must have moved it. I found it by toning the door speaker back to the head unit. There is an amp mounted on the backside of the 8.4" screen.
