I have a new 2014 GC Limited, with UConnect 8.4AN, and I have a whopping 175 miles on it, so I'm not jonesin' for an update, but how do they "happen?"

Because all electronics are running off the UConnect system, that's why no OFF button

I'm a mind reader in my spare time.

;)

Have you've had any issues with your 8.4AN...especially after registering your UConnect account? I ask because many have had issues with the 8.4AN before & after activating their UConnect account.

I only have the 8.4A, but recently had the NAV activated (long story), and knock on wood...I've had no issues.

I don't think major firmware updates are downloaded directly through the 3G. You need to download to a computer and install with a usb stick, or have it done at the dealer. These files are too large, and an interruption might brick the unit. You can check for updates here: https://rsur.extra.chrysler.com/rsur/Uconnect.do

To the OP, I take it from your username you frequent the Keuka Lake area. I've vacationed there, and it's really a beautiful area, with some fine wineries, and great buckwheat pancakes!

jacko15, thanks for the info and the link. I'll start checking it regularly.

More importantly; Yes, we have a cottage on the west side of the lake and are here full time from late April through mid-October. My main thing here is fishing for small mouth bass, and the fishing is good! The grain mill in Penn Yan (Burkett Mills) specializes in milling buckwheat, so that is the base for all things pancake in the area. We live outside of Rochester during the "dark" season; being here for five months is great!

I see your posts and responses throughout this forum. As I'm a newbie to the site, I value the info that you and others pass along.
