I hate Auto Highbeams

How do I shut that feature off? I want to manually control the highbeams on my '14 Grand Cherokee. I thought about blocking the sensor on the windshield, but didnt know what other effects that would cause.

I know on my '15 you just have to pull back on the turn signal switch.

Re: I hate Auto Highbeams

just go into your uconnect settings and turn them off there is a check box for it. in the auto setting it still lets you flash them if you need to by moving the stock the opposite way. mine work flawlessly its a great feature, I wish I could say the same for the rain sense wipers those things are erratic.

This is what I do. I use the auto on/off feature but control my own high beams with the multifunction switch. I usually just drive with dim lights anyway, always have, but I have superhuman night vision. My auto dimming works great except when meeting a car in a long sweeping curve they don't dim until the car is more straight on. Also it sometimes fails to see cars with old yellowed lenses until too late.

You can disable them in the Uconnect settings. I'm not sure how this differs from just moving the headlamp switch from A to manual headlamps.

My 2011 has the A for auto on the headlamp switch or you can move the switch to complete manual operation.

I absolutely LOVE the auto-headlights. I was very skeptical that they'd work well but I can't really see them being any better IMO.

I agree the wipers on the other hand aren't great. I wish the least sensitive / slowest setting was slower. And if there is a light but decent rain, they jump to the high setting too quickly.

Re: I hate Auto Highbeams

I also love the auto high beams which worked flawlessly on my 2014 Summit, however on my 2015 High Altitude they do not work correctly. I had the dealership address this in a visit I made and they said they were never setup correctly from the factory. They claimed to have fixed it, but unfortunately they still don't work right.
Like others have said simply turn the setting off in uconnect settings. Either that or place your headlight switch manually to ON instead of auto. The auto high beams only work when the headlight selector is in AUTO mode.

Re: I hate Auto Highbeams

Like JTS972Z28 said. Just turn the knob to on (all the way clockwise).

I too turn the knob to full love for auto high beams. I just wish I could keep the foggies with high beams.
