Angry I'm about done with this Uconnect lady.

So I love the text message feature of my 2015 Jeep GC Altitude, Uconnect 8.4a. I love having the message of who its from pop on screen. WHAT I DO NOT LOVE, is when i'm jamming out to some Metallica Black Album and I get a new text message from someone and the woman interrupts my song and says "New text message from Greg" and then my song continues in a loud blare after silence. It ruins the song and just aggravating when driving. I have looked extensively for an option to turn it off and cannot find it. Please help me if I am missing it.

Of course I can always disconnect the phone but then I won't have the option to view at red lights or see if I have a text message or reply. I also love having the phone connected so I can make phone calls through the system and not holding the phone in my hand.

Why can't the notification still pop up, but have no annoying lady stop your music and return it to you at the same volume?
Why can't you just turn the text messaging notification system off but leave the phone connected for phone calls?

Someone please help me if I am rambling for no reason and there is a section of settings I am missing... I love my Grand Cherokee and this 1 of very few complaints I have about it.

You can turn off the text message notifications. I have an iPhone and under the Bluetooth settings for the unconnect. Click the I beside unconnect. Turn off show notifications. ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1469745805.854226.jpg

Unfortunately I don't have an option to turn off Bluetooth notifications on Android 6.0.1. I have to disable messages entirely. I'll test it.

Unpair and repair the phone with the unconnect. It will ask you if you want to allow access to messages on the second pop up. Say no and it will prevent this from happening.

Or just get an iPhone ;-)

Haven't owned an apple product since iOS 4, don't plan to start now.

I don't need to re-pair, I can disable message access in Bluetooth connections, I just can't disable Bluetooth notifications. Maybe I can get an app to do it...

Do what I said above and it will disable the notification and your messages won't pop up. Also, not having an apple device since iOS 4 is a shame because iOS 7 and up are when they became worthwhile devices you should give them a try because android leaves much to be desired but just my opinion.

Re: I'm about done with this Uconnect lady.

Let's stay on topic. This isn't a mobile phone forum. You're not going to convince me to buy an iPhone.

You misunderstand, I WANT to use messaging in uconnect, I just DON'T want the notifications. I'll test disabling the permission but expect it to disable all messaging access.

Re: I'm about done with this Uconnect lady.

Here is another possibility. I know that the volume control knob can be used to independently adjust the volume of the Navigation lady. I don't know if it works the same for text message notification. For Nav, all you do is adjust the volume while she is talking. It doesn't affect the radio volume.

This is not possible. The notification is how the message gets onto Uconnect. If you disable the notification you won't get the message. Theres no way to do what you are asking so maybe you are misunderstanding how this works.

Even if there is a way to lower the voice like the nav voice, it will still cut the music off for the full length of the notification
