Importing Music

Sorry if this has been addressed somewhere, and if it has, please feel free to redirect me.

Just picked up a 2012 Grand Cherokee X with the 430N. The first dissapointment I came across is that it doesnt seem like I can add a song to my HDD straight from Satilite Radio. All it allows me to do it save a favorite song or artist.

The second thing which is even more frustrating, is that when I tried loading a CD onto my HDD it takes forever...basically have to listen to the whole CD for it to get transfered...and it wont recognize an artist or track names...is this normal??

Thanks

Right. Sirius doesn't want you to record their content to disk.

It does take a while to load a CD, but you shouldn't hear the music while it's loading. If the CD is newer than the Gracenotes database inside the radio, you won't get track names or album art.

I rip CDs to MP3s on my computer, put the MP3s on a USB drive, and load that into the radio. It's a lot quicker and I get track titles and artist names, but no album art.

Re: Importing Music

Is there any way to update the Gracenotes?

I just bought a CD today, and obviously, I am having this problem...should I expect this with all new music going forward?

The radio can accept an update, but I can't tell that Jeep has created one.
