Same problem here. Camera works fine (with the guide lines) but none of the steering wheel buttons work except, it seems, cruise control. Keyless entry works.

A little hesitant to take it to any of the local dealers since none of them know about the existence of the factory camera accessory. Would've had them do the install if it weren't for that. And, at some point they'll probably say that I botched the install or some crap.

Anyway, I'd be in for a lot of explaining to the service people about the whole thing and the posts above indicating that Chrysler or Jeep Support acknowledge the issue.

Thanks in advance for any background info on resolution with the dealer
Yea they got everything to work again. They did not charge me for it. The keyless entry was my fault. I forgot to reconnect the sensor when I took apart the trunk. My camara does not the the guide lines tho

Does anyone else have not have the grid lines on the camara. I checked the settings and the box is checked and still no lines. Any ideas what it could be.

If you don't have grid lines then the camera does not support them. the gridlines and any text like "Check Entire surroundings" are actually programmed into the camera itself.

Re: Installation of OEM Camera in 2014 Laredo

Hi all, bought my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude back in June and have been following this thread ever since. I had to register to post my first comment.

I called my local dealer in NJ I purchased the vehicle from and inquired about having them install the part and to give me a estimate for the parts/labor. They got back to me a few hours after that and told me that the part, while it shows in their system, has been discontinued. I had originally given them the part number from the just for jeeps site which is 82213884. I also noticed on just for jeeps the website shows that it is 'out of stock' - I signed up for the notification to let me know if it becomes available again.

Just wanted to provide my update, really not sure if what the dealer is telling me is true or not, based on what I have been reading in this thread it seems the overall message is not 100% clear from the dealers.

If anyone has any advice or updates, would be happy to hear about them, thanks all and nice to meet you!

There was an error in the configuration of the harness.
Chances are Jeep discontinued the original release of the kit and will be releasing a revision.

Re: Installation of OEM Camera in 2014 Laredo

Okay, here's what seems to be the answer to the steering wheel buttons:

Step 46 in the instructions-you tap into the bl/or wire with the blue wire. The original poster ignored the instructions for some reason. Maybe he knew better but he made no mention of intentionally deviating from the instructions.

Once I did that the steering wheel functions came back online. Visits to two different dealers to waste my time because they try to diagnose it on their own. Then with no time left in the day they try to call Star Center or Mopar Accessories Dept. or whatever. Maybe because I didn't buy the car there-I don't know. "Who installed it?"... "I did."...And you know how that's going to go. So I'm into it now for $150 cause they couldn't resolve it as a warranty issue, and found that I botched the connection in the lift gate and left the licence plate light out. Plus the 50 I paid the dealer where I bought it to activate that and the trailer wiring.

Thanks (and here's a plug for) Jeep Garage in Mass. (where I DID NOT buy the accessory). I called them in desperation. They indicated the info above, and that the product had been discontinued, and that a new corrected one would come out eventually. I'm not so sure because i think Jeep wants to make you pony up the money for the higher trim. I really can't figure out why the route to fitting this accessory would be convoluted. Total cost for me was $335+$50+$150 (unless I torture myself again with a dealer visit and am successful getting the $150 credited under warranty).

Re: Installation of OEM Camera in 2014 Laredo

I would like to install a generic backup camera to the radio, and I'm under the impression this will work based on the other posts.

can anyone explain what the outputs mean
The order of the pins is as follows:
Pin 31: Green – Camera Signal
Pin 32: Red – Camera Return
Pin 33: White – Camera Shield

I understand pin 31 and 33 being the two wires from the camera.
What is pin 32?

You will still need an interface for the CAN signal.
