Its not just you, we also are very frustrated that you can't turn the voice readout off on the Jeep uConnect system. I think its the main drawback of the system actually. It drives my wife crazy.

Are you referring to the confirmation prompts? If so, they can be turned off. From the manual:

Turning Confirmation Prompts ON/OFF
Turning confirmation prompts off will stop the system
from confirming your choices (e.g., the Uconnect™
Phone will not repeat a phone number before you dial it).

Press the VR button to begin.
After the “Ready” prompt and the following beep, say
one of the following:

− “Setup Confirmation Prompts On”

− “Setup Confirmation Prompts Off”

Sweet tip 77, thanks! Siri is really amazing through the BT. I sent a text today while driving....it was too easy. Siri + Bluetooth = Wrecking Dicks!

I don't think that will happen, they aren't big on licensing, what can happen is manufacturers can use iPhone out and put the iPhone interface on the Nav touchscreen if they so choose, expect to see that next year and beyond.

My ancient REC works great with siri BTW. Can't wait for my upgraded audio system (with the '12 SRT wrapped around it) to ship...

You are the best, it only takes a few seconds to place a call now!

Well, I got all excited and ran out to the car only to find out prompts are off already. And, it still says "Uconnect Phone... calling John mobile, calling ... call complete." I can only imagine the dissertation it'd go into if prompts where on!

Re: iPhone 4S and Siri all work with BT!!

well it looks like I didn't read far enough to see someone replied to this already.

Did you know that you don't have to listen to the repeating of names and numbers. All you havee to do is:
press the uconnect button and say "set up, confirmation prompt", you will be told that the confirmation prompts are on, do you want to turn them off, "say yes", confirmation prompts are off.

Also sending emails while driving is awesome.

Re: iPhone 4S and Siri all work with BT!!

Ok, I think that you are wanting the confirmations to be completely eliminated. This can't be done. What turning the confirmation prompts does is eliminate about 1/2 of the confirmations. EX:
If the confirmation prompts are on and you press the Uconnect button and say "call 1234567", Uconnect will respond back "calling 1234567, is this correct?", you will say "yes" (irritatedly) and Uconnect will respond "calling".
So you go thru (4) steps in order for the call to be made.

If the confirmation prompts are off and you press the Uconnect button and say "call 1234567", Uconnect will respond back "calling 1234567", the call will now go thru.
So now you heard Uconnects voice only 2 times.

The confirmation prompts are there to be helpful do to possible road noise interference. You might say "call 1234567" and the mic picked up some road noise and said "calling 12344457". well now you're pressing the Uconnect button to end the call and and have to start over. You're probably not happy now either (huh)
