Yesterday I just upgraded my phone from a 5s to a 6s. For the most part my 5s was updated all the time when new updates were available (not sure if I had the IOS 9 on there yet). Regardless I had no problem connecting my Iphone 5s to the USB port and being able to play music from Itunes to streaming music apps ex: Tunein Radio, Iheart, Coast to Coast AM, Pandora.

Currently my Iphone 6s WILL connect with bluetooth and I can make calls. BUT Uconnect tells me "device unplayable" when I plug it into the USB port. I also can't even play music though bluetooth because it tells me the same "device unplayable" B***S***. BTW current OS is iOS 9.1 on the 6s

I've read about the connection problems being with the old iOS 8 update but I never had that problem with my Iphone 5s. Since I don't see a current thread with this issue I was wondering if anyone else out there is having the same problem with the 6s?

You know what? I didn't do that. I'll try that out and I'll give an update.

Just out of curiosity. Do you have the 8.4A/RA3 in your vehicle? If you're getting access to your iTunes via USB cable do you have Uconnect disabled?

Honestly I thought Uconnect was just what Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler calls their fancy Head Unit system.

.

I've got whatever head unit comes in a 15 overland
Unconnect is not disabled, I wish it could be
I just do not use the app. To me it's more of a hindrance than anything, it's easier for me to stream from whatever source I choose.
There app is just making money off of people that use it and I refuse to pay them a penny till it works the way it should

I'm beginning to have issues with my iPhone 6S as well. It'll connect to bluetooth fine, and play music but sometimes it will freeze and won't play for a while. if i plug it into the Usb, it won't work through bluetooth anymore and will sometimes freeze through USB. and if i unplug it it won't find it as a bluetooth source all together. Its a pain in the ass.

I usually just either go straight to USB mode or leave it in bluetooth to avoid a headache.

Forgot to mention, I never took the R40 recall for the software update. Not sure if that's why mine works

Last time the dealer did a flash to my vehicle they toasted the tranny (kl)
With the radio recall they admitted issues with some where they had to replace the whole head unit

How the heck do you toast a tranny doing a software update!?!? That makes me scratch my head.

I've done all of the recalls on my vehicle with software so I'm pretty sure it's an Apple Issue.

Alexkong did you delete the phone from the Head Unit? When I did that and re-pair it I was able to listen to my Iphone 6s just fine through the USB. I have access to my Ipod on my phone and I can take bluetooth calls as well as play Pandora.

ive tried to unpair my phone. turn my phone off and on.

for the most part i feel im pretty tech savy being i work at AT&T. but this has stumped me.

Solution...plug the phone into one of the USB ports that's not connected to the sound system for charge and use Bluetooth for your connection. I have a dual USB power adapter in the "cubby" for this purpose for my MY12 JGC as there is only one aux USB and it's in the console and since I use a phone mount, the wire is routed "out of sight" into the back of the cubby and plugged into the adapter.
