I ended up fully restoring the phone and still nothing worked. Tried again this morning to just reset the network connections and now the phone connects properly. We'll see how long it lasts for.

Do you know if this update is something we can do ourselves or does it have to be at the dealer?

Also, how can we check which software our unconnect module has?

Thnx.

Re: iPhone connectivity......

I currently have an iphone 5 paired with my 8.4AN radio in my 2014 GC and the only shortcomings are it won't display music info by (artist, playlist, etc.) via Bluetooth. It just will display the song currently played without artwork and it I can receive incoming text messages via voice or text display on the 8.4AN screen, but will not allow you to reply via the 8.4AN Screen.

Blue tooth music streaming diesnt show artwork .. just song. and the iphone wont allow the reply via the radio - thats apple's and uconnects fault.

Not sure what info you are looking for so here is everything:

iOS: 7.0.6
RHB: 50.00.07
Grace notes: d9f
Hardware system: 0207

Let me know if you were looking for something else.

Thanks!

Re: iPhone connectivity......

ah shoot.. sorry. RHB version... there is a thread kicking around here that has that info, and yes.. you can do it yourself. I had issues with RHB and BT streaming.. it would never work right.

Hi StaticFX - I have Iphone 5s and brand new Overland, so assume most up to date UConnect. Just want to confirm that the UConnect will only show the song currently being played, and not let you browse your Iphones music collection? This is what I'm experiencing so far at least.

Re: iPhone connectivity......

Saw separate threads on this and I know people have had various issues with iphone update to 7.1.

Everything worked fine before the update and seems to after updating to 7.1 except one thing I really liked. The fact that Rhapsody or Pandora (on the phone) seemed to play as IPOD when plugged into the USB media port on 2014 JGC Overland (displayed art, charged, etc). This changed after updating. Bluetooth will not work while plugged into that port and only works if I use the lighter adapter to charge.

Anyone else have this issue or resolve it?

Sign of senility when you respond to your own thread.

Plugged in a previous iphone 5 to prove to myself that the latest ios 7 update changed the behavior of my current iphone 5 when plugged into the USB port. Same behavior - iPod shows 'device unplayable'. Worked two weeks ago.

Dumb question perhaps - does uconnect software update itself? At a loss. Not the end of the world but liked having it charge thought that port and play through iPod setting. Seemed to charge faster than lighter adapter.

Any setting I overlooked?

**solved**

You apparently have to have at least one 'song' in your iTunes music library even to have uconnect recognize the iphone device, so that you can use other music apps via the USB port. Dumb.

Re: iPhone connectivity......

I just found out if I use the USB port in the center console it connects the I phone to the radio and you can scroll songs and it displays on the screen. Just select the AUX.
I've had the jeep for a year and just figured this out.
