IPhone to Android Bluetooth Issues

Hi all -

I recently converted from an iPhone to an HTC One M8 and I'm having issues with streaming music over BT. Phone, messages and contacts work, but streaming music over BT does not. When switching to BT in the media section on the Jeep nothing happens, almost like it doesn't see any music on the device. Music is definitely there, but doesn't play. I'm running Kit Kat and Jeep Uconnect is the 8.4 with NAV running latest 14.05 software.

Sorry I'm not here to help. The new HTC One will probably be my next phone so I'd like to read the responses you get. Good luck!

Do you have media audio enabled on HTC one in BT settings for uconnect?

What happens when you start playing music on HTC while connected over BT to uconnect? Open music app and hit play there should be stream icon available hitting it will let you select uconnect.

I've seen some posts in other car forums saying HTC can play music via BT only not show music info and in some cases no control viacar system but audio plays

Another option to try is USB cable and set HTC to HDD mode so its basicaly like USB stick to uconnect

Tried that also, but music doesn't stream to car. I noticed while browsing the file structure of the HTC that the HTC Sync Manager places music in a weird place. It places the music deep in the mobile directory:

mobile>music>users>username>music>music albums placed here:

I wonder if I just place the music directly into the music folder if it will work. The default location may be too deep for the Uconnect to recognize?

Unfortunately that option was removed in later versions of Android software. USB mode has been replaced with MTP mode (Media Transfer Protocol).

Re: IPhone to Android Bluetooth Issues

Figured it out... I moved the music from the default location:

mobile>music>users>username>music>music albums placed here

To the root of the Music folder and music started right up. Full navigation from UConnect as well. That's a relief...
