ipod cable mount

For those with the ipod cable in the center console, do you use the velcro mount? If so, where?

Re: ipod cable mount

There was no velcro mount that was in my center console. It was my understanding that the velcro mount was only for the 730N in the compartment below the ac/heating module. We have a USB port in the center console into which we plug a ipod cable.

Re: ipod cable mount

I have the 730 and I am also interested in where folks are plugging in this cable. I left mine without the velcro, just seemed easier.

Re: ipod cable mount

I put the velcro on it, thinking it would keep the cable in one spot when it isn't plugged into an iPod (prevent rattling). I have it on the left side of the compartment. However, I usually have an iPod Classic in a rubber case in there, and that doesn't move around one bit.

I'm not sure why that cable is so thick- it doesn't bend all that well and ends up just taking up a bunch of space. If you have the cable and a decent sized iPod in there, you aren't left with much room for anything else. While I like having my phone charging cable in there, I may have to move it to the center bin just to free up some space in there.

Re: ipod cable mount

The velcro is worthless. The cable is to short to attache the end. I use it with my iphone 4 and i would have liked a longer cable

Re: ipod cable mount

The cable is to short and thick, I just pushed it all the way in and attached an Ipod extension cable and its perfect. 12 to 18 inches are a good size.
