Ipod/Ipad won't play in Overland

My Iphone 4 works perfectly when connected to the port in the armrest.

But if I connect the Ipad2 or 8 gig Ipod it only identifies the unit, but won't play or show songs.

This is in a 2012 Overland. Any ideas?

Thanks

Robert

Why not stream via BlueTooth with your iPad? That works great with my iPhone. (I don't own an iPod, so I can't help there)

Re: Ipod/Ipad won't play in Overland

Which firmware version is installed in the 730N? I use an iPod 5 "classic" with no problems (plugged into and stored in the armrest). The most recent firmware upgrade appears to have issues with the classic iPods, but it is reportedly fine with the touchscreen iPods.

I am using firmware 2.12 (thanks *sox*!).

Re: Ipod/Ipad won't play in Overland

I read that if you start playing something on the Ipod and then plug it in it will work fine. Tried this and I can confirm that it now connects perfectly, even after the car is turned off and back on.

Thanks!

Re: Ipod/Ipad won't play in Overland

You will have to do that after each sync operation. Once in awhile you will need to unplug the iPod and plug it back in. Sometime you will need to reselect the iPod in the device selection screen. Most of the time it will work just fine.
