Is the 730N(RHR) AVAILABLE NOW?

I looking to buy an Overland and I am sooooooo confused. apparently the 730N(RER) was discontinued in August. There are current Overland models ON SALE with iPod connectivity that read the "730N" on the invoice. However, it does not specify RER or RHR. The dealership is saying everything works fine with the iPhone. I don't listen to them because none of the salespeople knew squat about the new 2011 JGC.

Does ANYONE have any idea if the 730N RHR is showing up in the JGC now?

There must be a way to check on the screen the version of the navigation model.

Thanks in advance!

If it currently exists and has the 730N, it's the RER.

RHR won't go into production until mid-January or so, which means they won't start showing up in dealer lots until early Feb.

When they do begin showing, the computer generated stickers (usually what you are able to get on the dealer website) generally won't show the differences between them. In order to check in person, look at the lower right of the head unit's faceplate (not the display itself, but the entire stereo unit). You will see three letters denoting the exact model, which will be "RER" or "RHR" for 730N equipped models (but I'd be somewhat surprised if any RER models are still around when the RHR hits the lots).

It's very easy to tell which model of radio is on a specific Grand Cherokee. The radio sales code is on the lower right corner of every radio:

RES = Media Center 130 (AM/FM/CD/MP3)
RBZ = Media Center 430 (touch-screen, no navigation)
RHB = Media Center 430N (touch-screen, Garmin navigation)
RER = Media Center 730N (touch-screen, Harmon navigation, discontinued)
RHR = Media Center 730N (touch-screen, Harmon navigation, not out yet)

Hello. I'm new to this forum, so I'm not quite sure how this works, but at least I'll promptly be able to demonstrate my stupidity. I have owned 3 Jeeeps and am looking at a new GC Overland. One vehicle I am considering has the 730N feature code - but the salesman (sic) told me that the 730N code adds voice-activation to the Nav, and if the window sticker doesn't show 730N then the vehicle will have only touch-screen capabilities. But from this thread it appears that this code means something else altogether. Can someone please clear it up - ie what do 730N, RER. and RHR mean? Thank you

Welcome 2ManyThumbs, below is a link that describes the three navigation systems for the Overland. Currently only the 430 is available and your salesman is somewhat correct in stating it doesn't have voice activation for the nav. The 730 does (both old one & the new one to come in January). The link will explain.
