This thread is about the 430n RHB navi by Garmin. As recently as a couple of days ago Chrysler customer service was telling several of us that the update would be provided in the form of a CD mailed to us. Most recent reports now have that coming in late March.

Is it possible that you're referring to the 730n RER 2.402 software update that was released as a download on 2/14??

Let's strive for accuracy in these reports. Some people are on a hair trigger and/or about to wet themselves as it is.

I sent an email to customer support and here is their reply.

"Thank you for contacting the Jeep Customer Assistance Center regarding
your 2011 Wrangler.

The Travel Link upgrade disks are beginning to be mailed out after
mid-May and that your will be able to perform the update yourselves.

You can also check with your Chrysler dealership to see if they have the
updates available.

Thanks again for your email.

Sincerely,

Joe

FYI, the update didn't correct the music streaming issues with the iPhone4. It works great as a phone via bluetooth but using it as an iPod is still problematic.

I've not been able to get my iPhone 4 (iPod for music) to work with my Garmin systems either in my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Phone works fine through Bluetooth, it stream music sometimes over wireless BUT when I plug my iPhone 4 into the USB jack nothing works, no connectivity or music comes out. I do believe mine is the 430N RHB unit. Have no clue and the dealer said its working fine but they did not test it with an iPhone 4. Any updates on this since May 2011? Its now August 2011. I did find this but not sure if it just means this is for navigation or the radio and iPhone 4 fix too:http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/css_wk2_k4011.pdf

Does anyone know where the downloadable updates / firmware upgrades are for these RHB 430N radio units are online so I can just do it myself with a USB memory stick, if possible?

You're plugging into the jack under the armrest between the front seats, right? The iPhone won't work with the jack in the faceplate.

If so, your problems will go away when you ask the dealer to perform this TSB.

Hi mate

I've got a wk2 Laredo v6 built may 2011.

I have to say we haven,t had any probes with our iPhone 4 or iPad 2. Just my wife talks to fast into the uconnect

It sounds like a softwRe issue either car or apple that may have since been fixed since your car build

Cheers

Re: Issues with 430N (RHB) Media Center & iPhone 4

Ok, so Apple has provided a new set of updates:
4.2.10 for Verizon Iphone and
4.3.5 for ATT IPhone (3&4) as well as iPods.
With the Iphone there is a chance that you may experience 1 of 2 issues when plugging into the docking cable:
1) you may get an "error occurred" message,
or
2) you may get a long "reading" time frame that seems not to go away,
If you get these messages, you will also notice that on the phone will be another message "accessory device not supported by phone"
I have performed several different tests on the phones and found that this case seems to happen if you plug the cable into the phone when it is turned completely off.

So the “real world” case that this would happen is:
1)If a person has a phone that is paired to Uconnect, turns BT off to preserve the battery level,
2)Leaves the vehicle and does some activity where he / she will play the iPod during this activity,
3)Drains the battery down and the phone shuts off or they power off the phone to save some battery charge for calls before getting back to the car,
4)When they get back to the vehicle and plug the phone into the docking cable without having powered it up,
5)After the phone powers up a the “accessory not supported by Iphone” will pop up on the display,
6)If they immediately press the MEDIA button , select Aux Uconnect will show “Reading”, then “Error Occurred”, when the error box goes away the Aux screen shows 00:00 on the timer and the < > & ll buttons are light blue (inactive),

Steps to get past the “Error Occurred” message
1)Unplug the docking cable, power up the phone after the phone is powered up, plug in the docking cable, press the Media button, select “Aux”, Uconnect will Read then start playing,
2)If not done as described in step #1, I have had to unplug up to 4 times before “Reading” was done and play started,

WELL HERE WE GO AGAIN:::::::: if you have an ipod or iphone,
please do not do the 4.3.5 update till i can test it. I have just been told by a person that I have helped with the Uconnect update that there is a new problem with this update. I will be testing it and let you know more soon.

Re: Issues with 430N (RHB) Media Center & iPhone 4

vehicles built in May have the newer SW in the uconnect, the TSB 08-036-11 will bring the SW up to date and fix a lot of issues.
