Re: JGC Software version 14.05.3

Super annoying that you have to have a Windows or Apple computer to download the update.

Download the 13.48.03 and do it all over again.

How are you accessing this website?

You can call Uconnect Customer Care at 800-465-2001 and probably get them to mail you the update ready to go on a USB thumb drive. They did for me when I gave up on my Win 8.1 pc and downloading. I have since starting using Safari for Windows and it's lickety split easy.

Linux

I was able to download it, but I had to use a VM with Windows I have for such stupidity. It's 2014 and their website is behind web standards established a decade ago.

I haven't really noticed much difference yet, but I haven't had the jeep that long either.

Re: JGC Software version 14.05.3

I lost SXM traffic after I did the update. Called Uconnect. No help. Called SXM and they sent a refresh signal to the radio. Few minutes later, it was back.

I made my notes below IN CAPS. In reality though it may not end up mattering since the update is only supposed to offer "Nav display enhancements" over 13.48.3 which doesn't cover your pairing issue. Heck, this update made my Shuffle issue worse. I am thinking of reverting back.

Got in
shut door
wait for OFF light on start button to go off
Insert USB
Press start button twice (to RUN)
turned off HVAC (NOT A STEP BUT SHOULDN'T MATTER)
waited....
pressed YES for update.
got out and went inside. (NOT A STEP AND SINCE THE OPEN/CLOSE OF DOORS IS IMPORTANT AT END I WOULD SUGGEST STAYING IN WITH DOOR CLOSED AND JUST WATCHING
Came back out 10 mintues later and it was done.
Turned it off.. pulled usb (BOTH DIRECTIONS SPECIFICALLY STATE TO PULL USB FIRST THEN TURN OFF, OPEN/CLOSE DOOR LET BUS SLEEP, TURN BACK ON, OPEN/CLOSE DOOR LET BUS SLEEP....YOU ARE NOW DONE
Thats it

I am pretty sure my first two notes are meaningless but quite positive how you ended is an issue. What have you got to lose? Hope it corrects your pairing issue but not real hopeful.
I didnt have the pairing issue - and so far.. every update I have done (except the first) was like I stated. No issues...

and what are the nav enhancements? lol anyone know?

Ugh, I know. I felt dirty installing an Akamai client on my Mac. I mean, is this 2004? What would it cost them to hork off a chunk of EC2 for their content distribution needs instead? I feel like I have a backdoor in my browser thanks to this Akamai client (I didn't feel like going through the gyrations of installing it on a VM).

Also, would it kill them to publish a SHA1 for the download? Call me less than convinced that the head unit is doing proper checksumming of the ISO before installation.

My installation of 14.05.03 ameliorated about 80% of the juddering in the backup camera. I hope they make further progress toward resolving this issue in future releases.

Same thing happened to me. Refreshed signal and it came back.

Update worked fine for me. No problem with phone pairing or anything. I haven't seen any changes though. What navigation enhancements where there? Camera is less jumpy but still jumps a little bit here and there.
