So there you go...Chrysler technicians say it is the focus feature on the camera, and that is how it is supposed to work.

I'm still convinced it's a software issue, and I'm hoping they will address it soon in an update. One can always hope.
I don't buy their explanation. I have a May 2013 build Overland that has never had the jumpy camera issue and I'm currently running 13.48.3. If the tech is correct, mine is not functioning properly.

Re: Jumpy Rearview Camera after 13.48.3 Update

A couple of people have noted in another thread that they saw some improvement with the forth coming 14.05 update.

Re: Jumpy Rearview Camera after 13.48.3 Update

Mine only got jittery after installing 13.48.03.
I took it out and the camera got better again.
After awhile, on a whim, I put 13.48 back in and the camera seems ok.

As for focusing ... I call BS. The camera should be a fixed focus since it always focuses for the same distance.

The camera IS a wide angle fixed focus design. It has a focal distance from an inch away to infinity. Ice cycles hanging from my rear hatch in front of the lens are in focus at the same time that distant objects are in focus. That tech was full of crap.

Get the update 14.05.03 and you will have your fix. The issue is caused by a bug where another background application or function is interrupting the smooth streaming of video.

The update is available now. Follow the instructions and fix it yourself if you like.

Re: Jumpy Rearview Camera after 13.48.3 Update

Same issue here in NZ with a week old laredo, so fix is to get it downdated ?
Also has anyone got the issue where everything whites out at night in a dark area ? It seems to try to adjust the aperture (amount of light being let in) to adjust to the tail lights which puts everything else out of focus. Like really badly. Also sometimes it doesnt engage (happened once).

Re: Jumpy Rearview Camera after 13.48.3 Update

I commented in the other thread for the new version, but my camera is still jumpy unfortunately. Wasn't like this before this 13.48.3 update.

Unfortunately the update does not fix it. At first I thought it got better after updating to .03 but the next time I hoped in my car it was back to its jumpy self. Sucks

Have you tried a factory reset?

I swear the flash process is fragile.

My Voice Command was messed up. 13.48.3/with factory reset fixed it. It was ok for weeks. Had Transmission TSB done and dealer flashed 13.48.3 and it immediately broke voice command and a few other odd things. I flashed 13.48.3/with factory reset and it's been fine ever since. I don't know if it was the reflash or factory reset that fixed it.

I think I read someone double flashing to fix camera jumpy issue.

I'd experiment. Since the camera is fine for a lot of folks.

Can I ask, how do I perform a factory reset?

Re: Jumpy Rearview Camera after 13.48.3 Update

I just picked up my Overland this past Friday. The camera is jumpy, how do I know what version I am running and how can I upgrade if it needs to be upgraded?
