Jumpy Rearview Camera after 13.48.3 Update

Has anyone noticed any issues with your Backup Camera after updating to 13.48.3? I took my Limited in for service last week for 2 particular issues: 1) Recall, 2) Phone Malfunction (red screen warning kept popping up on my 8.4AN). Dealer updated the software to 13.48.3 as part of the fix. Now I notice whenever I am moving in reverse, the picture is no longer smooth; it's jumpy. It's almost like the processor can't process the image quickly enough. The camera image was perfectly fine before they did the update...any clues as to why this might be happening?

I am having the same issue post the update. I wonder if the latest software uses more memory than the previous one which causes the lag with the picture.

Re: Jumpy Rearview Camera after 13.48.3 Update

Ever tried complaining about it? I have a 10/13 production date and it always did this (came with the update prior 13.48.13).

Re: Jumpy Rearview Camera after 13.48.3 Update

I took my JGC in earlier this month to have the issue fixed. The dealer said the only repair protocol they had was to replace the camera, which they did. Unfortunately, the problem continues, and the Service Manager's only response was that other 2014 JGC's on the lot do the same thing...so it's standard operation for the rearview camera. They suggested I complain to Chrysler so they will eventually address the issue...I too suspect it is a problem with the UConnect interface and/or processor, and not the camera.

Jeep Enhanced Customer Care has been following my case, but they want me to take my JCG to another dealer for a "second opinion." I don't know what that will accomplish since Jeep engineers already were engaged with the first dealership.

I just want my rearview camera to not jump/flicker and stay still like it used to. I hate this notion that I should lower my expectations and accept this poor quality performance...it's tough to talk up my Jeep to my friends...

Re: Jumpy Rearview Camera after 13.48.3 Update

Sounds like something to be corrected in next software update.

Mine 2014 SRT started doing the same after software update. Hopefully they fix it in the next update.

Re: Jumpy Rearview Camera after 13.48.3 Update

My camera was affected the same way, so I removed the update. A few weeks later I decided to try again ... no problem.

Go figure.

Did you re-download the software or just reinstall the same download?

I just reinstalled what I had. Based on a suggestion from Willx I gave it a little more time between the final shut down/restart cycles.
