Just installed kenwood ddx 470 double din

I'm having one issue with the install. I used the pac rp4-ch11 and I don't have any steering wheel controls beside the evic controls. No volume controls and no channel controls. I'm new to the pac adapters and had some wires left over. P.b. output. Vss output. Reverse output. Also the headphone plug coming off the control unit and a blue/yellow wire. Other than that everything else works has anyone come across this

Read the instructions that come with the adapter!!!

There is a setting on the adapter you have to set and you have to plug that headphone jack into the steering wheel controls port on the back of the headunit.

How much dremmeling did you have to do to get this unit to fix? I was thinking of buying the same unit.

You got to take off about 1/4 inch of the top and bottom. It's not difficult with a dremel. Plus you don't see the dremel'ed part once you put the trim back on.

Re: Just installed kenwood ddx 470 double din

Thanks Rage - follow up question.

I've looked into all the attachments at Crutchfield, but wonder if you can answer a question or two for me.

So I currently have the 130RES and DO have Sirius XM subscription (I believe it ends in July). Is there a simple adapter that would plug into the headunit for Sirius XM? Will I need TWO radio adapters?

I have the 2012 JGC Laredo (6 speaker, no sub).

I have zero experience with electronics but am thinking of doing the headunit install myself after reading up a bunch.

Re: Just installed kenwood ddx 470 double din

You'll need to purchase the SiriusXM SXV100 tuner which plugs into the aftermarket headunit.

Re: Just installed kenwood ddx 470 double din

What about for the people that have the factory nav? Is the swap to an aftermarket nav pretty simple?

Re: Just installed kenwood ddx 470 double din

Rage put together an adapter (check his threads) that splits the Sat/GPS connector into separate Sat and GPS connectors to use the GC's stock antenna.
