Key Fob Heirarchy?

If both Key Fobs get in the car at the same time, does the system always default to the #1 key fob settings or do nothing? My wife keeps the 2nd one in her purse all the time and when we both get in.. nothing happens as far as seat adjustments, radio adjustments etc... Unless I hit the door 1 or 2 buttons before shifting into gear...
Kind of annoying as I would hope it would default to the #1 fob.. Mine, since I'm driving... !

Don't you have to hit the 1 or 2 side of the toggle to get the settings?

I hate to break it to you, but I suspect the Jeep engineers may be married, and have built in "inside purse location" detection to the fobs such that the one in the purse always wins.

No.. if they get in individually, as soon as you hit the go button they adjust to each others parameters... But when they both get in... Nothing adjusts and you are scrunched up to the wheel. So you ususally have to put it back in park and hit your button...
My opinion is if #1 and #2 are both in the car, #1 should take priority, but who knows !

Re: Key Fob Heirarchy?

from reading the '14 owner's manual, you can force it to choose settings by pressing the 'unlock' button on the fob. The '14 FSM doesn't seem to add much to that.. neither talks about how it decides which to use when both are present and no buttons are pressed.. my WAG is that it defaults to the last used..

Re: Key Fob Heirarchy?

Seems to be first one in by our experience.

My wife HAD the annoying habit of getting to the passenger door just before I got to the driver's. It was a blast trying to sit on a seat inching closer to the steering wheel. We had to wait for that adjustment, push the button, and wait again.
