I think the real benefit of this unit is the ability to navigate freely through the radio even while in motion. No locking out of menus and such while in motion. Bring able to turn on the rear view camera at anytime is awesome too.

It's not just for watching videos while in motion.

Very true stech but who cares what you're looking at behind you with the rest camera?? That's what the rear view mirror is for. When you're on the road and the kids aren't looking out the windows at trees for 500 miles like the ole school way and they have a chance to watch an 8.4 inch screen with the sound from the movie coming trough all the speakers at the same time..which option do you think try will pick??? Trees??? NOTTTTT. Technology obviously has its benefits and as long as its used wisely..it's all good.

Re: Lockpick now available for '14 JGC

I agree with you whole heartedly @CHALLENGERBIZJET . some people like the rear view camera feature for towing...

I was really giving @jacko15 a different perspective on the capabilities of this module. I look forward to connecting a digital TV tuner so I can watch the news or games between grocery shopping with the wife

Just buy an external slimline DVD player it will work out better.

I just bought a new Ipod Touch 4 64GB (has the older 30-pin connector to work with the Lockpick).

This will allow me to play all my music and videos in motion while using the steering wheel controls.

Isn't that what adaptive cruise control is for? And lane departure warnings. And automatic headlights. And rain-sensing windshield wipers. And the various technologies that hit the brakes for people in rush hour traffic when they're turned around messing with the kid in the back seat or reading a book (yes, I really have seen drivers doing both of those things in traffic).

But seriously, the reason I looked in to lockpick and similar products a while back was to see what options there were for custom camera integration with factory in-dash screens. I want to see more of what's around me when I'm driving!

The kids in the back seat don't care about that on long trips, peace of mind is more important.
