Bad:

I can not input addresses or other grayed out stuff into the NAV while in motion which is the main reason I got it.

I have checked and re-checked the DIP switches and they are correct according to the instructions.

1-2-3 are down and 4-5 up.

Any thoughts from anyone who has it working?

I will send Coastal an email and see what they say.
x4

I also have a 430n and a CoastalETech Lockpick v3 and here are my results:
1 2 3 down; 4 5 up: same as you.
1 3 down; 2 4 5 up: Address in motion works and all grayed areas work; DVD in motion works; Rear Camera in motion does NOT work; Vehicle speed in NAV next to speed limit sign reads 0 while in motion.

Thanks for the info, I'll post a solution if I find one.

Looks like Coastal Etech has a new product.

Re: LockPick on 2011 GC 430N

The firmware update from Coastal is now on their web site for the MYGIG LockPick V3. It is verion 1.9 with a date of 12/13/2010.

I have downloaded it and applied it to the LockPick and it now works.

I can watch a video in motion.

Activate the rear camera in any gear. (no extra wiring)

Input addresses and other previously grayed options while in motion.

The one thing I have noticed is that the MPH speed readout on the NAV always reads zero instead of the actual speed.

I am thinking they have intercepted the speed signal and that's how they are getting it to work.

For me this is fine. I much prefer having the ability to input information than see the speed.

Re: LockPick on 2011 GC 430N

Interesting... I hope blocking the speed does not interfere with the unit calculating/updating route times.

Thanks for the update.

I was thinking the same thing. I will give it a try on the way to work tomorrow and a longer trip this weekend.

Re: LockPick on 2011 GC 430N

Most NAV units calculate the route times using the speed limit (or the current average speeds on the route if they have real time traffic). I would think the 430N would be the same, so the speed signal shouldn't make a difference.

IndyBob - with the new update, is there anything left that works in park that doesn't work in motion? I'm also considering getting one of these, as I find it completely rediculous that even the passenger can't program the navigation while in motion.

Not that I have found so far. Everything now seems to work in motion.

Re: LockPick on 2011 GC 430N

I just completed a short trip to work, 12 miles. I had the NAV route me there. The time and miles to destination were updated as I drove. The only thing that I have found is that the actual speed is always zero on the NAV. I think this update to the firmware is a winner. I am happy with the LockPick V3.

I will now secure the LockPick and button up the radio dash panel. I had left the radio dash panel just sitting in the dash and did not push in the clips in case I needed to remove it.

The scariest part of the whole install was removing that radio panel for fear of breaking it.

Also, I left a USB cable plugged into the LockPick unit and hid it under the dash so if there should be another update I would not need to remove the radio dash panel again.

Re: LockPick on 2011 GC 430N

Thanks for the update and good idea on the usb cable. I will also leave the USB cable attached and run it into the cubby at the bottom of the center stack so that it is available when needed.

Awesome idea! Where did you put the cable, and how long of one did you use?
