That would be an understatement. TVandNav2go.com is a much better company to deal with.

Has anybody used this one? I emailed them and they said:

Yes the unit will work on your car and is $225 with the av cable.

So it's $65 less than the lockpick. Is there anything different I am getting spending $290 on the Coastaltech lockpick or is it any better? I can't find any differences but this is the first I have heard anyone mention this company.

I bought an AllGig from them a few years back. It does the same thing as the LockPick. Susan used to be the person that handled sales and support and she was pretty good about taking care of everyone. They used to have a pretty active support forum but I don't know about now...it's been a few years since I've been on their site.

BTW, the Lockpick and the Chr550 are two different units though. The lockpick would be comparable to the AllGig. The Chr550 has a few more bells and whistles.

I didn't see the allgig one. That one is priced the same as the costaltech lockpick with the av cables at $289. I was talking about the one that milous commented on

This one is $225 with the av cables. It seems like it does the same thing as the others. I just wanted to see if it was the same quality, I have never heard anyone else mention it before.

My bad...I confused NavTV with TV and NAV2go. I don't know anything about TV and NAV2go products but I just checked out their website and the features look very similar to the Coastal Etech products. In fact, the pdf instructions looks like it is the same pdf download....looks like a rebranded product to me.

Re: LockPick V3 vs CHR550

So... I found the tvandnav2go MyGig unlock v.2 on amazon from tvandnav2go for $185 shipped with the av cables. So, for $105 less than the coastaltech I figured I will keep my fingers crossed on this one. The brand had all 4 and 5 star reviews on amazon.

Re: LockPick V3 vs CHR550

I bought the V3 form coastaletech for the 430n before the 550 was available. I was upset about my ipod touch not working with the 430n so I ended up getting the 550.

The 550 worked fine for the ipod music but the video out was bad. The 550 video out showed the lines from the rear camera, the quality was low and my slingbox via ipod touch would not work. Also it made my rear camera black and white and grainy.

I ended up going back to my V3 and adding a A/V mount next to my car cell phone charger. Now I can put slingbox on the nav using my cell phone via A/V cables and I can still connect my ipod touch with A/V cables to view all videos crystal clear on the nav. The 550 isn't a great choice for videos IMO. It also messed up the rear camera image even when the ipod wasn't connected. O' and I couldn't turn on the rear camera while moving forward, which I use to park in my garage.

FYI, I don't ever watch tv while driving. However it is fun to have the audio for tv while driving. I'm also a season ticket holder for the Colts. I always get to the games early and it's cool to watch the other games and to see some pregame coverage on the Nav.

I installed this yesterday. I have only used the address input while moving and the rear camera in any gear. Both work well. It does have hookups for more cameras and a/v hookups for iPod that I am not using. I had a question about dipswitch settings last night after they were closed, so I emailed them and had a response within 15 min. And like I said before, only $185 on amazon with av cables!

Yes, same quality, and you don't ever have to deal with the HORRENDOUS customer service from Coastaltech.

Assuming this product zeros out the MPH on the navigation in order for the video in motion to work?
