Re: MiFi connected to UConnect Access??

?? then... how would it work with a uconnect radio?

You mean like an app to use on-star instead? (i know it doesnt exist - but is that what you are saying?)

Yeah a company could use an app like uconnect just like uconnect uses the advantage app. I'll be posting something similar to the advantage package on blackberry github soon

Anyone know where to start looking for custom Roms for this unit? I want video playback from SD cards and mirroring of a tablet or phone via HDMI or USB.

Finally someone who thinks like me! Unfortunately I have not seen anything regarding custom ROMs yet. And I am looking for mirroring as well. Not even full mirroring, but app specific mirroring into a car mode interface.

Any idea on how to get a copy of the basic software to run in a VM to see if it's Linux or is based?

Unfortunately it uses a BlackBerry OS.

Re: MiFi connected to UConnect Access??

Not great, but still workable in the fact that there are supported apps on the BB OS that already play from SD cards in multiple video formats. Now its a matter of figuring out the install process for the approved apps into the unit. I wonder if there is a way to open a file explorer locally from a USB or SD card and install an app to the system instead of having to download it from the server.

Good write up of what was planned... even if it hasn't been rolled out yet.

Re: MiFi connected to UConnect Access??

its not Blackberry OS. its QNX. Yes, BB uses QNX but QNX is used in so many more applications.

Just about everything is already there, just missing the music apps..(which, if you have an iphone are pointless)

I would disagree with that last statement. I would really prefer to be able to use my 8.4 screen to be able to control the apps even if they are really running on the phone. I have hear of new head units that do a full mirror of the phone which sounds pretty cool. I would be really good to be able to use all my phone apps on the larger 8.4 screen. Even if the apps get ported into a car mode interface.
