No sir.

There may be a time where the stock one gets in my way, if I ever buy a kayak or a storage container etc, if so I will know exactly what I need. For now though, I am ok with the stock antenna.

Re: Mineral Grey Sharkfin

No, I like it as well. The smaller stock 6'' looks pretty good I think. And if I couldnt have used it on my wife's corolla (the boot on her antenna is busted up), I probably wouldnt have bought the shark fin.
The 6'' sorta has an X5 vibe to it.

I'm sure you're not the only one. They are both nice looking antennas, IMO. I just got my paypal link from VisualGarage but I'm not ordering the sharkfin because I hate on the whip. I just have a slight preference for the fin.

My primary concern has been functionality, but it sounds like--at least anecdotally-- there's no noticeable dropoff in performance. I'm sure that a highly trained radio engineer (or MSCA) would beg to differ.

Mashie, where did you get your roof rails cross bars? The factory ones are flat but yours appear to be more rounded like the cars shape.

I probably would have been fine with the looks of the stock antenna. (prefer the fin, but the stock would have sufficed visually). BUT, if I'm going to be loading a canoe off and on the roof, the whip would have been a major PITA. So I went with the fin. Now that I have it, I'm so glad I pulled the trigger. Every time I see an MK2 with the whip now, I think it looks "dated." Of course, that's just my vanity justifying the purchase, but let me run with it!

Hey ampulsive, sorry for the delay in posting. My roof rails are the standard MOPAR rails from the dealer. I got them the day I purchased the Jeep and I really liked how they complimented the lines of the Jeep.

Email them. They do not list the JGC on their site. They will send you a email on how to order and can invoice you through Paypal.
