Re: Most cost effective Audio Upgrade for 2012 Overland?

I will probably find a coaxial 3.5 to put in there. WOuld it be better to have something with a silk dome tweeter or something thats a bit brighter do you think?

Also, what about those rear speaker in the pillars in the back hatch? Recommendations?

I would go with a silk/soft dome tweeter. It is pointing directly up at the glass. Depending on the front speakers you choose, you may want to find a speaker that has a "similar" sound. This can be hard to find, as there aren't many places where you can listen to 3.5 inch coaxials before purchasing, and there also aren't a ton of 3.5inch coaxials, especially that would match as you work you way up to higher end component speakers.

Greetings,

I would go with this Vifa, especially if you want a 3.5 coaxial for the center:

The Madisound Speaker Store

Or for the front center speaker go with this one from Vifa:

The Madisound Speaker Store

Vifa makes speakers for a lot different brands ranging from mid level to right before audiophile level in car and home audio.

Best for now.

I am not sure if those speakers will fit the depth available on the dash speaker. Also, not sure exactly what AT ALL will fit in the rear pillars.

I do, however, feel as if the speakers, being driven by factory power, should be relatively sensitive...

Re: Most cost effective Audio Upgrade for 2012 Overland?

Greetings,

Use this as a fit guide:

Metra Online | Welcome to Metra Auto Parts Online Warehouse

The rear pillars is tagged as REAR 2.

The factory speakers should be relatively sensitive since the factory amp does not have much power.

Best for now.
