I will though I don't think they show exactly where the dowels are. Basically I tried to put them in any larger flat area, but the front and back had to be flat in the same spot. The box was actually stiffer than i thought it would be, so i only added the 3 braces. To be honest, I'm not sure if the dowels made as much of a difference as the Dynamat. With just the dowels the pitch of the box was higher if you tapped on it, but still had a resonance. The Dynamat killed that completely. The difference is hard to quantify. I'd say a modest improvement. It isn't going to wow anyone but it does remedy an obvious issue.

Re: Muddy bass?

I tried searching...hence reviving a thread from 2011...but has anyone tried covering the stock subwoofer box with fiberglass? for $20 in glass and resin, would probably stiffen up the box much more so than dynomat. The combination of a fiberglass shell and dynomat could be a nice bump in SQ

Re: Muddy bass?

this is exactly what I am talking about...except not replacing the stock sub...right away anyway.

Custom Subwoofer install 8" sub in stock enclosure non bose

If the air space is the same as a stealthbox...i don't really see the difference between doing this and getting a stealthbox.
