Nav always in night mode

My 2014 used to have daylight and night versions of the installed maps. Daytime had brighter colors and green backgrounds. Night were set on a black background.

Ever since recent software updates, it always stays in night mode. Anyone else seeing this? Can it be fixed?

Re: Nav always in night mode

I believe it is a setting in uConnect. Auto is what you were in before the update.

This was done on purpose by chrysler. There was such a high demand on blacked out everything for Jeep Grand Cherokees that they figured it would save the owner some time by blacking out their nav too.

Check your cabin lighting dimmer near the headlight switch...

Yeah, that modest detent on the roller before going full bright or full dim is a tad too subtle for my tastes. Even worse is being bitten more than once by it.

I've been stumped by the detents on that dimmer dial too.

But I believe that would make it stuck in Day mode, not stuck in night mode. I think.

EDIT: Double checked tonight. Dimmer wheel can only force "day mode".

Possibly OP misspoke and is stuck in "Day Mode"?
