Nav chides about 7 mph over limit

We drove 600 miles on our first major trip yesterday in our diesel JGC. Great trip.
Both of us, but mostly dear wife, we're chided a few times for going 10 mph over the speed limit, as the Nav system is programmed to do.
But today, it starts complaining at 7 mph over. There's no setting for 7 and 10 is still selected in the menu.
So, is the GPS just in a mood? Has anyone else had this? We do have the newest software, which was installed during first oil change last week.

Re: Nav chides about 7 mph over limit

Mine warns me 2 mph BEFORE whatever I have it set for. I have it set at 9 mph and it warns me at 7 over.

Re: Nav chides about 7 mph over limit

I turned that feature off altogether as it can cause more harm then good IMO.

Near me, there is a section of roadway (Leading to Robert Moses Beach) the speed limit is 35, the Jeep thinks its 55. If you get used to the Jeep warning you and the Jeep doesnt even have the correct speed in its system, You might be going much faster than the law states and could get a ticket.

Re: Nav chides about 7 mph over limit

I agree with Racer. I turned that off. Sometimes the NAV speed is dead on, other times the NAV and road signs are way off.

Re: Nav chides about 7 mph over limit

Round here everything seems to match up and it only goes off when I'm lead footin it so I find the reminder quite helpful but thanks for the heads up when traveling.

Every time I set mine to 10 mph over, it resets itself to 5.

Re: Nav chides about 7 mph over limit

What baffles me is why it worked differently today than yesterday and all days before that. I understand the maps can be wrong on speed. And I cannot tell the system to do warnings on odd numbers.

Just want to add that settings in Uconnect sometimes only hold if made while vehicle is running.

I know and it seems to make no difference. It doesn't bother me as most of the time I like it at 5, but, every now and then, ...

Re: Nav chides about 7 mph over limit

I set mine warning to 15 over but it's more for highway travel than local roads.

My Uconnect went wacky this morning. It disconnected my cell call and the GPS was off by a bunch, thinking that I was driving local roads instead of down the highway. I had to turn this feature off. However, everything was back to normal when I started it after work. Go figure...
