Re: NAV Forgets Where Home Is

This is my third attempt so, I hope it does not post three times.

Yesterday my system did not know where home was either. It did not know ANY of the favorite destinations I had set earlier. My wife, driver #2, was driving. After reading this post, I checked my system today. I turned the system on as driver#1. My home and all of my previously set favorite destinations were there. Does the system keep separate records for driver #1 and driver#2?

If it does, is there a convenient way to set a destination for both drivers at the same time?

Re: NAV Forgets Where Home Is

Mine lost home again- I don't think it has anything to do with the memory seats. I guess we will have to wait for the first update.

It keeps separate radio presets for the two drivers, so I wouldn't be surprised.

I don't have a 730N so I can't try the experiment: select your profile (push memory button 1 or 2), add a favorite destination, then press SET and your button number to save the profile. Now push the other button number to select the other profile. See if the destination went away. Now select your profile again and see if the destination came back.

Re: NAV Forgets Where Home Is

^^ I had this problem as well, and just the other day i had the same exact thought as these two above me here.

Driver #1 vs. Driver #2 -- Now the HOME is set for both Driver memories, lets see if it stays. If not, i'll know i have a problem.

Re: NAV Forgets Where Home Is

My RHR also forgets Home Address and all entries into the Address Book. I called the dealer today and they checked for updates for the problem and could not find any.

Re: NAV Forgets Where Home Is

I saved my home address in the favorites and named it House. I've gotten in the habit of just selecting recent finds and the "House" is usually near the top. So far it has not forgotten recent finds, but it never remembers home for long. For the price premium they charge for the 730N, you would expect the nav to work better than the 430N. Time of arrival is alway 10% pessimistic, occasionally goes blue screen, often does not remember the last device I was listening too was the iPod, sometimes very strange directions, sometimes changes routes on you I think because of traffic, but does not mention why... doesn't like to route you on secondary roads, doesn't learn your typical route... or adapt to your driving habits... etc.. etc.. oh the percentage of usable hard drive space is very low. It does have some nice features that I just don't happen to use, although the dead reckoning is a useful feature the 430 does not have...

Re: NAV Forgets Where Home Is

I was at the dealer today and asked about this. They do not have a fix at this time, but will call me when they do. I do not expect a call anytime soon since there are posts on this forum of this problem for over a year.

Re: NAV Forgets Where Home Is

I installed 2.120 update two months ago and have not lost Home Address or any other addresses. Before the update, I would loose them about once a week.

Re: NAV Forgets Where Home Is

I am not sure if I want to save my home address in the Nav as "Home". If someone stole the Jeep, they can easily come to my house, open the garage and enter the house. Of course there are other ways they can reach my home, but this wud be the most easy way I think. Am I crazy to think this way?
