NAV Help

Can someone please tell me how I can view my vehicle speed on my Nav screen? I can see the elevation, long/ lat, etc., but can't figure out how to see MPH? On my old Magellen I could always see speed, and I believe I've seen others on here reference this. I'd like to compare GPS speed to what I'm seeing on my odometer. Thanks.

Re: NAV Help

730 or 430? I don't think the 730 is capable of displaying speed.

Re: NAV Help

Yes 730. Thanks for the reply. I was incorrectly under the assumption they all displayed speed somewhere.

Re: NAV Help

730 does not display the speed. Think of it. Who needs it? That's why we have a speedo.

Re: NAV Help

Agree. Had bigger tires put on my Jeep and although the dealer supposedly adjusted the odo to accomodate my new tires, I was hoping to check my speed on the odo with what gps was showing. Can't imagine ever needing to see mph on my nav for any other reason.

The main reason for showing the speed on the NAV is when the road speed limit is known, it will display a warning if you are speeding. I've found that handy when driving in an unfamiliar area. A nice feature of the 430.

Just one of a few very useful $200 garmin portable features that I miss with my $2000 730N.

Helpful, but I've found mine out of date on a few occasions. No big deal.
