Nav question

New to the forum. I picked up my new 2015 JGC limited about 6 weeks ago. I never set a destination for the nav until yesterday.
For some reason the audio & the turn by turn voice prompts are overriding each other.

Logic would be that the audio is muted when the nav voice prompts are given. That's how it is on my wife's Ford Escape.

As a FYI I did the latest uconnect software update the day before. I'm not sure if this was happening before the update or not.

Any suggestions? Thanks. Wireman

Re: Nav question

You can control Nav audio by turning volume up or down while it is speaking.
I beleive it can also be adjusted in settings.

Re: Nav question

I did adjust the volume up. My question is if the audio sound is muted during nav prompts so they don't conflict with each other. Could someone verify how your system works.

Yes, my 2014 Limited, and my 2015 Overland both lower the audio volume (not totally muted) when the Nav lady speaks.

Re: Nav question

Thanks for the info. I'm going to enter another destination and see how it interacts now that I did adjust the volume up. It was only at "5" from the factory.

Re: Nav question

I've got an '11 and a '14. On both, the radio audio lowers but does not totally mute for the GPS turn by turn. I simply adjust the GPS voice to be clearly understandable over the lowered radio audio.

Re: Nav question

I usually have my nav volume set to around 14-16, works great.

Re: Nav question

In my 2012 430N I have the option to turn off voice prompts...

Last time we were using it it was annoying when we took a quick shortcut that the Nav system didn't like and kept trying to get us to turn around instead of just recalculating.
