Re: Navigation directions in EVIC?

Not sure what type of reset I did - it said "Reset to Factory Defaults." Navi still not showing as an option on the 8.4a screen at bottom.

Uconnect Re-boot

Hold Mute and Tune buttons for reboot. Keeps all settings.

Factory reset: Hold temp up and down buttons to access engineering menu.
Wipes all settings, usually reboots with SRT logo, everything looks wrong and takes minutes to hours to get back to normal.

Re: Navigation directions in EVIC?

Thanks, Snuke, for the tips. I did do the engineering "factory settings" reset, which I presumed is the "hard reset."

I got the SRT logo and weird stuff initially, then it seemed to come back to normal after a couple minutes. But... Navi still not back.

I have an appointment with the dealer in the morning. I'll see if they can get it back and fix that EVIC display problem.

Cheers - Matt

Re: Navigation directions in EVIC?

It won't come back. It happened to me. Dealer put in 8.4an per Chrysler's request.

Re: Navigation directions in EVIC?

So the dealer redownloaded the Navi for my Jeep. Interestingly, they told me the reason it wasn't working because the head unit had been replaced before and it wasn't done properly. I know that's fiction -- the head unit had never been replaced.

But it was working in the EVIC. And I was able to turn it on and off. Now, I'm not. It's showing in the dash, but several of the settings in the navigation are now gone. So it worked for about two hours and has now disappeared again.

Directions are still in the EVIC, but control of it is gone.

Any thoughts?

Re: Navigation directions in EVIC?

Jeep back at dealer again for look at the Navi setup. They said they couldn't replicate it, but I showed them the option to turn it on and off had disappeared.

Anyone else out there experienced this? Seems there is no setting for it at all now.

For a while, mine was showing up in the wrong menu, but was still functional. It was many months ago, and I don't recall where I found it. It's been functioning properly for a long time now.

Re: Navigation directions in EVIC?

I did a factory reset on my 8.4a hoping it would resolve this issue. I too, was duped by my dealer when I requested an 8.4an and they gave me an 8.4a with dealer activated navigation instead. I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow to get them to reactivate my navigation since I lost it in the reset as well as to apply the TSB for the transmission issues since I've been experiencing rough downshifts. After reading it looks like two people were able to get 8.4an's, so I'm hoping my dealer will replace mine with an 8.4an as well. Unlikely, but here's to hoping.

Re: Navigation directions in EVIC?

Mine was always dealer activated so I did not expect the additional features but I do expect to be able to control whether the nav shows up in my instrument cluster, as I used to be able to do. This is bizarre add that's not much of an added luxury.

Re: Navigation directions in EVIC?

On my summit ecodiesel, the option is there to check/uncheck in the navigation guidance settings screen - I have it checked and the turn by turn randonly shows up in the dash...sometimes yes, sometimes no. I also noticed that sometimes when its not showing up but not always when I go back in to check the setting and make sure its checked, that is someone unchecked itself... I run with Eco mode on and usually have the gas mileage screen up in the dash, wonder if it has to do with the Eco mode and gas mileage screen over riding the turn by turn setting for the dash...

I ride with the same exact settings on my Overland Hemi. i Noticed the same thing, sometimes there, and sometimes it was not. was even switching through the options to see if one specific would leave it there but no dice.
