Folks can also just hit that "Assist" button on your rearview mirror to be patched into UConnect support.

And for those asking...

1. There is almost certainly nothing any dealership can do to fix this. Given the nature and symptoms, the problem is coming OUT of the UConnect/GPS system & is not a vehicle system issue.

2. Neither a Hard or a Soft reset seems to clear or correct this problem.

Interestingly, I called UConnect on the way to lunch today via the "Assist" button & spoke to a rep and reported the issue. She did mention receiving several UConnect/GPS related complaints today.

Strangely I didn't have the system reboot on the way back from lunch. On the way to lunch it did it at least once.

At least it will be report it to FCA somehow.

Re: Navigation is being activated

Well it get more interesting...

I haven't had a single reoccurrence of this issue since calling UConnect via the "Assist" button on the rearview mirror.

That includes the 15 minute drive back from lunch & the almost 30 minute drive home. I had the NAV screen selected the whole time & was watching to see if it happened again.

So... maybe they got this fixed!

Re: Navigation is being activated

Add me to the list having this issue in DC. First time it happened was yesterday 8/30 as I was driving past the Pentagon. I thought perhaps that was the problem but I guess not. It consistently occurs as I'm driving no matter where I am. If you all find a fix, please let me know.

Re: Navigation is being activated

On Sunday, 8/30, I noticed the NAV on our RAM truck doing a reset several times on a 50+ mile trip. Yesterday my wife texted me that the same reset happened on her Cherokee... and again... and again.

Then I received a "panic" call from her. The Nav was literally "hung up" not responding after the n'th reset. I told her to stop the engine, open driver door and then close; that should have stopped the Nav, but it did not The Nav screen and the dash remained on ???... (wish I had known about the "soft reset").

I then stayed on the phone and talked her through to her destination... When she got there shutting engine and opening door did shut down the Nav and other dash displays.

Both RAM and Cherokee have Uconnect 8.4AN and both show on the system information screen that they run Uconnect 15.06.1. The Cherokee has had the "R40" radio update; the Ram has not. Something is very wrong here.

Re: Navigation is being activated

Add me to the list...Over the past 3 days I've noticed mine keeps flashing the 'Navigation is being activated' screen. Kind of annoying because I was trying to use it Sunday and it kept cutting out. Hopefully this gets resolved sooner than later!

Happened to me Sunday multiple times; glad to hear it's not just my unit.

Re: Navigation is being activated

Same issue in here in Maryland near DC. Started suddenly a few days ago. GPS keeps restarting and saying "Navigation is being activated".

I really doubt there's anything we can do on our end. Looks like an issue that's at a global (across their whole product line) level and we'll have to wait for a software update or them to fix the satellite on their end. The dealer pretty much told me the same thing. I am not the only one reporting this issue to them.

Make sure you don't get in trouble with any neighbor eager to start the hunting season early. Let us know how the fix works on your Jeep.

Re: Navigation is being activated

Rebooted 5 times on the way to work today. I wonder if it has something to do with SiriusXM Nav Traffic and or Travel Link?

Exact same thing here. Mine started the same day, (8/30/15), and does it at the same interval, (every 5 minutes). Screen randomly comes up, "Navigation Is Being Activated". Well, at least I know now that I'm not the only one. As they say, "misery loves company"!
