Navigation or not? Cannot decide

So I can get a 430 Series RBZ head unit fairly cheap. Do I really need Navigation? I use my phone for the most part so trying to decide if I should hold out for a RBH unit.

Hate these decisions....

What do you think?

Re: Navigation or not? Cannot decide

I was in the same boat as you. I ended up getting the non-nav version of the 430 at a pretty reasonable price also. I talked myself out of getting one with NAV, OEM or aftermarket, because of the map updates. I use my phone for navigation also and now that Google maps can cache maps, it made more sense.

Re: Navigation or not? Cannot decide

I purchased the non nav also, and I'm very happy with it. The Nav version is so overpriced in my opinion I would've brought a better quality aftermarket unit for the same price. I also don't like looking down, and over to the Nav. I prefer the portable dash units that you place in the windshield area.

I was with you but the only '13 GC in Maximum Steel had the Nav/Wheel package. Since I like a clutter free dash and windshield, I'm happy I got the Nav. I hate extra brackets or anything like that. Also the iPhone has a much smaller screen. I learned that I can't just rely on the voice prompts only.

Re: Navigation or not? Cannot decide

Where is everyone finding such cheap head units? I have been looking for a solid few weeks and the cheapest I can find is $425. Is this a good deal and I am just being picky or or are there better deals to find?

Re: Navigation or not? Cannot decide

I used to use my phone for nav puproses. I was originally looking for an RBZ because of this. For another 100 bucks more than I was looking to spend I got an RHB and I have to say Im glad I did. The garmin nav is great. Plus, you dont have to look over at the screen for directions, they show up in the EVIC too

I dunno I paid 375 for mine too much higher than that, and I would've went aftermarket. I still think it was a good deal the guy who paid 300 found a great deal

Just need to keep an eye on eBay. I was checking every hour or so. 2 popped up at same time. One was $300 shipped. Other starting bid is $175. Both rbz.

Re: Navigation or not? Cannot decide

The 430N is a great unit. If you have the money, it's definitely worth getting.

Re: Navigation or not? Cannot decide

Too late for OP but IMO - absolutely get a nav version. It is so much convenient than using a phone. When I was custom-ordering my car Nav was a $400 option and I already had standalone Garmin nav unit. I thought about not getting Nav but now I am glad that I did.
